THE number of volunteers joining the Beautify CNMI!’s “1020 on 10/2” has already exceeded the group’s target number of participants, which is 1,020.

With 475 more people signing up yesterday, the number of volunteers is now over 3,000, according to Angelo Villagomez, restoration chairman of Beautify CNMI!

The organizers, however, are hoping to see more people volunteer in the cleanup campaign.

During a meeting yesterday at the 13 Fishermen’s Pavilion at around noon, Villagomez said two more private firms had signed up for the 1020 on 10/20: cleanup drive.

He said Herman’s Modern Bakery and Mita Travel will bring in 25 volunteers to clean the airport and footbal field area.

Reps. Cinta M. Kaipat Covenant-Saipan, and Absalon Waki Covenant-Saipan are among the government officials actively participating in the campaign.

Kaipat is suggesting that participants bring cameras on Saturday and take pictures of the adopted areas, before, during and after the cleanup drive.

She said it is important that the public sees how Beautify CNMI! works.
